Handwashing 101

We are all in this together. Simple steps to help fight Covid-19

Old School Prevention

Did you know that there is a Global Handwashing Day? October 15th is Global Handwashing Day, celebrating hygiene for all and is designed to increase awareness and understanding about the importance of good ol’ soap and water as an affordable and effective way to combat diseases. Wash your hands and wash them often to do your part in preventing the spread of Covid-19 and other infections.

If you’re among the 5 percent of people who are washing their hands properly, skip to the next paragraph, but for the rest of us—it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. We can all have a hand in protecting our health and each other’s.

  1. Wet your hands with water (warm or cold) and apply soap.

  2. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Don’t forget your thumbs!

  3. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds.

  4. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.

  5. Dry completely your hands using a clean towel, paper towel or hand dryer.

When you don't have soap and water...
