Viqua Coliform Bacteria Test
Sampling/Storage
Ensure any coliforms detected came from the water.
1.Clean your hands.
2.Prepare the faucet.
a.Select faucet without an aerator (or remove prior to sampling).
b.Run cold water tap 2-3 minutes.
c.Swab the faucet with isopropyl alcohol or weak bleach solution (10 parts water to 1 part bleach)
d.Again, run cold water tap for 2-3 minutes.
3.Follow directions on bottle to draw sample.
a.Adjust water flow to a steady stream.
b.Remove bottle cap (without touching the inside of cap or bottle) and carefully fill to the shoulder.
c.Replace lid and tighten.
d.Shake bottle vigorously for 20 seconds to dissolve media.
e.Store @ room temperature for 48 hours (max. 72 hrs).
